Theory One

Theory number one suggests that JonBenet's brother, Burke, committed this crime Regarding the murder alone, a theory that the brother of JonBenet, Burke, who was nine at the time, committed the crime. Burke was known to have mental issues and be violent and aggressive towards his sister. The theory that circles around Burke being guilty is that Burke had bashed his sister's head with a flashlight after she had stolen his snack of pineapple. (Rahman) Though Burke was known to be violent, it is thought that his attack was not intended to result in JonBenet's death.(Hedda)  No doubt that Burke Ramsey might have been jealous of his sister. With JonBenet being a beauty queen, it wouldn't be shocking if Burke lacked attention from his parents. Many will say that Burke Ramsey might have been jealous of his sister, with JonBenet being what most would call a golden child.  The Ramsey family housekeeper had also reported Burke's acts of violence towards his little sister.“According to the family's housekeeper, he reportedly had a history of defecating in his sister's bed. After getting angry at her, he also once struck his sister in the head with a golf club.” (Hedda)

With Burke's known mental illnesses and violent behavior, the theory of Burke being the “accidental” murderer is one of the biggest theories surrounding this case. Investigators believe they can hear Mr. Ramsey's voice saying 'We're not speaking to you', before Mrs Ramsey allegedly asks: 'What did you do? Help me, Jesus. They claim JonBenet's brother Burke can then be heard asking 'What did you find?' - even though his parents have always claimed he was asleep at the time.(Rahman)
